Welcome to the Business and Finance Department

The Pawtucket School Department's Business and Finance Department welcome's you to our web page.  The Department consists of employees who perform all the accounting functions of the school department along with many other responsibilities.  They include budgeting, payroll, personnel, employee benefits, 403(b) annuities, employee attendance, Medicaid reimbursement, purchasing, billing, union negotiations, substitute teacher assignments and working papers.

It is the mission of the Business and Finance Department to provide accurate and reliable financial reporting to the School Committee, Auditors, R.I. Department of Education and the General Public as well as assist employees throughout the school district with business matters.

    New AFT Local 930 (Pawtucket Teachers Alliance) Contract Ratified




    A new contract agreement has been reached by both the union and the School Committee and ratified by the City Council, the agreement is effective September 1st. The American Federation of Teachers Local 930, known as the Pawtucket Teachers Alliance, represents all teachers, specialists and health professionals in the school district.

  • Congratulations to CFO Melissa Devine - School Business Official of the Year!

     

    Pawtucket School Department Chief Financial Officer Melissa Devine (center) was named School Business Official of the Year at the annual meeting of the Rhode Island Association of School Business Officials (RIASBO). 


    We are very proud of the dedication Melissa puts in to ensuring that the finances of the school district are well managed for the students and taxpayers of Pawtucket.
