Carol White Physical Education Program (PEP) Program Data

On behalf of the Pawtucket School Department’s Carol White Physical Education Program (PEP), we welcome you to review the program data and outcomes to date.  As a brief background, Pawtucket School Department’s Child Opportunity Zone (COZ) received a competitive U. S. Department of Education PEP grant in 2013 with the overall goal to increase physical activity, health and wellness among our students. The grant targeted eight of the District’s schools, seven elementary schools and one middle school, with an emphasis on our COZ after school program participants.

To achieve results, the Pawtucket COZ proposed to take on a number of initiatives to increase the physical activity levels of all students throughout the district by modeling new programs at our eight target schools, as well as providing curricula materials and professional development in physical education and health for all teachers.

In order to measure the effectiveness of our PEP grant, we are required to collect data under the Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) on the students enrolled in the COZ programs in the eight target schools.

Please feel free to contact the COZ office if you have any question or would like to discuss the PEP project at 401-729-6293.
