The first ten words have either the word family of -id or -ide and the remaining five are second grade sight words. These sight words are words your child needs to learn how to read quickly and write correctly in their writing. We had a pretest on Friday last week because of the Monday holiday. This pretest will inform me of what your child knows before the week's practice. Please save this list at home for the words your child needs to know how to spell. I will return the checked homework in order that your child can do Tuesday's homework on the back. Thursday's homework will be on the backside of Wednesday's. All words should be written in lowercase letters. All students will take the final test on Friday. The spelling test will come home in the manila envelope.
