To be on grade level for the November report card, your child must be able to:

- read a benchmark book at the Pre-Primer 1 (level 3)basal level with 95% accuracy

- draw and label character, setting, and problem and solution

- read any 65 words from the first grade list

To be on grade level for the March report card, your child must be able to:

 - read a benchmark book at the Primer basal level (level 10)with 95% accuracy (ability to self-correct and to figure out new words in the text )

 - draw and label character, setting and plot (problem and solution

- read 90 words from the first grade list

To be on grade level for the June report card, your child must be able to:

 - read a benchmark book at the 1-2 basal level (the second book of the first grade level) with 95% accuracy

 - write about character, setting and plot (problem and solution)

 - read all 130 words from the first grade list

 - identify 3 favorite authors
