Welcome to Charles E. Shea Senior High School-one of the most diverse high schools in the nation. Shea currently has students from over 50 countries speaking over 25 different languages. A beacon of cultural diversity, the Shea High family has approximately 900 students in an historic building constructed during World War II. Our students and teachers are working hard to meet the many requirements of education reform at the national, state and local level. Our advisory program provides every student with an adult advocate to help plan for their future. The relationships our students establish with their teachers and with one another as we work toward these goals make Shea a very special place. In addition, our students achieve award winning success in academic and co-curricular programs such as: • The Certificate of Initial Mastery-a performance based diploma • Work Based Learning Experience in the nation's first high school American Government and Public Administration Academy. • Key Club, National Honor Society, Hip Hop, and Drama • A wide range of sports including football, basketball, tennis, and swimming • Family Fun Day, Honors Night, Fashion Shows, Talent Shows, and much, much, more. The Shea Alumni Association, Friends of Shea, and Family and Parent Support Group illustrate support for our students at events like Pot Luck Dinners, Open House and International Night.
