Dear Little Families,
Thank you for your patience in dealing with the parking congestion during last week’s ballgame at McCoy. It is seldom a problem during early spring games but the nice weather and our school’s attendance created extra cars in the lot.
Next week is National Teacher Appreciation Week. This is a terrific time for you or your child or both to write a note to your child’s teacher to express your appreciation of the teacher’s hard work and dedication. During my twenty years as a classroom teacher, I always treasured thank you notes written by my students or parents. They meant a lot to me.
With the mid-trimester progress reports, you will receive a copy of our school’s NECAP summary. This report tells how the students at Little did as a group on the assessments. We continue to make small steady gains in reading, but mathematics and writing still need work. If you have any questions about these scores, please feel free to come in or call to speak with me. Later on this month we will be told what category the school is in and that information will be reported at School Report Night and of course in the local newspaper.
Please make sure to note the special events on the calendar on the reverse side of this newsletter. As we get closer to the end of school, we have many activities going on. Please plan to attend Family Night on the 16th and see come of your child’s work on display. There will be food, drinks, ice cream, and some terrific raffle prizes. The district arts festival is this Thursday at 6 PM.
Lastly we are having our second kindergarten registration next week. If you have a student ready to start school next year, please come into the office and fill out the registration packet. The child must be 5 years old by September 1st and you will need 3 proofs of residency, your child’s birth certificate and his or her immunization records. Our kindergarten sessions fill up very fast, so please take time to come in next week.
