All students are given a W.E.B. Journal. A focus question is assigned each week by the teacher. The students are expected to read for at least 20 minutes each night. The parents are expected to monitor their child's reading each night and assist them in filling in the information about the title, genre,and pages read that night. One night each week, (which may vary in Grades K and 1), the student is to write a response in their journal that reflects the focus question given to them.The parent agrees to sign the journal each night to verify the above information. A contract is located on the cover of the journal, and the parent and child should read and sign this contract to show their commitment to this schoolwide homework assignment.
