2005-2006
Potter-Burns School awarded grant by the Rhode Island Parent Information Network (RIPIN) for continuing to hold “first day” celebrations to cultivate a relationship between school and home.
Potter-Burns School awarded grant by vsa to facilitate an integrated art and math school wide project.
Potter-Burns School invited to be part of a five school panel to provide information to state and local education leaders as to why the gaps between our special needs students and our regular education population on the state assessments has closed significantly. 

 

2004-2005
Potter-Burns School named a High Performing and Improving School
Potter-Burns named a “Commended School” by the Rhode Island State Board of Regents.
John Haidemenos, Jr., named Rhode Island Elementary Principal of the Year and a National Distinguished Principal at a ceremony held in Washington, DC, October, 2005
Pawtucket Rotary Club grant to defray the costs of purchasing the accelerated reader tests.
Potter-Burns School awarded grant by VSA to facilitate an integrated art and writing school wide project

 

2003-2004

Pawtucket Rotary Club grant to defray the costs of purchasing the Accelerated Reader tests

Potter-Burns School awarded federal grant naming it a “Reading First” school to help student read on grade level by grade 3.  This is a three year grant.

Potter-Burns School awarded grant by vsa to facilitate an school wide project social studies project.
