Slater Junior High consists of three grades (6, 7 & 8)
divided into teams that work as a school within a school.
The five major academic-area teachers meet to plan curriculum, interdisciplinary
units, and field trip activities for the approximately 120 students assigned to them.

Teachers are also involved in literacy and numeracy initiatives to improve performance
on statewide assessments. All professional development, approved by our School Improvement Team,
must address the academic,social and emotional needs of our students.
