Students will help
to plan, create, and sustain a school culture of safety and respect. Students will
develop skills for transition to self-dependence. Students will
develop strong positive relationships with faculty. Students will make

Support peer
mentors through teamwork and conferences.
Participate in 15 hours of professional development as required by the Board of Regents. Use best practice instruction to foster student-centered classrooms. Use common planning time to share strategies for effective teaching and learning. |
Analyze student
work to inform appropriate change in instruction. Leadership team will
participate in focus walks. Teachers will inform families of student progress using a variety of methods both oral and written. Survey faculty,
staff, and parents to evaluate and adjust advisory content and structure. Guidance counselors will work with students one-on-one and
in groups to identify strengths and weaknesses. Ramp-up teachers
will submit monthly summaries of the use of common planning time to the
principal. The principal will provide appropriate feedback. Inform parents of
student performance using the school website, quarterly newsletters, email,
phone calls, progress reports, report cards, open house, and report night. |
Develop 2005-2006
schedule to include common planning time for all staff. Involve all current
activities in “Red Pride Night” to provide orientation for incoming freshmen. Involve all
stakeholders, including the SIT, in planning orientation for Freshmen and
Parents. Develop school
counseling programs in line with the ASCA guidelines. |
Provide ongoing
and relevant professional development. Revise and review
disciplinary procedures to encourage positive student behavior. Review all
relevant data including state testing, SALT, attendance, etc. Align Tolman High
School Advisory program with learner outcomes. |
Increase in parent
attendance at open house and report night. Positive responses
and increase in participation on the climate section of the SALT survey. Improve attendance
and graduation rates while lowering the dropout rate. Decrease the
number of disciplinary referrals. Increase student
participation in extra curricular activities. Increase the
number of extra curricular activities offered to students. |
