***CONGRATULATIONS*** to all of the Third Graders in Mrs. Hughes' and Mrs. Kennedy's class. Everyone in the class not only read twenty books this year, but produced twenty book reports as well. Many of their students have read well over twenty, with Satayshia M. reaching her 100th last week. This is an AWESOME accomplishment to achieve and a STUPENDOUS TEAM EFFORT for Room 11!
***CONGRATULATIONS*** to Teresa M., a third grade student, for being named a state finalist in the "Doodle 4 Google" contest. Great work Teresa!
***CONGRATULATIONS*** to poets Jason D., Jaren C., Walter A., and Jaden H. for being chosen by the R.I. State Council of the International Reading Association. They are third graders, and their poems honoring "Ocean Life" were published in an anthology, along with over 100 students, grades 1-12, from other Rhode Island communities. The celebration took place on April 10th, at Hope Highlands Elementary School in Cranston, where Walter and Jaren read their poems on stage. In honor of Earth Day, all four students shared their feelings about the ocean with the entire school during morning announcements. We are very proud of these very talented young men!
