Students in the News
The Rhode Island State Council of the International Reading Association has announced that Henry J. Winters Elementary has three published poets: 1st grader Michael F. in Miss Nassi's room, and 3rd graders Bozena L. and Michelle R. from Mrs. Stover and Mrs. Hughes' writing class. Their poems were about leadership:"The Leader Within Me...If I were President," and will be published in this year's Rhode Island Reading Association 2008 Poetry Anthology.
We also are very proud of Taylor P. from Mrs. Rossi's room for winning 2nd place for her cartoon poster designed to motivate students to "Elect to Read." Congratualtions to Taylor, Michael, Bozena, and Michelle. We are very proud of you. Enjoy your awards ceremony on April 5th at the IMAX theater.
