December 2024
Dear Wildcat Family
December is here and with it comes winter!❄ ️ In addition to entering this colder time of year, it also means we are close to completing our first academic semester.
We are so excited about the significant increases in students’ proficiency on the RICAS assessment in ELA and Math, and the NGSA assessment in Science for the 2023-2024 school year. Our faculty and staff are continuing to capitalize on this achievement through targeted lessons and interventions.
As we approach the final weeks of the first semester and ending to 2024, it can be a challenging time for students to keep the focus on their learning. They may be excited about the time off, time with friends and family or the excitement that this time of year can bring. We are also aware that these times can be difficult for our students as they face other challenges.
During this time of year, we find that many people engage in charitable works and extend as much kindness their hearts can lend. We are grateful that you send us your best each day. We are also doing what we can to instill positive behaviors among our students. It is so important now more than ever that our students understand and practice “KINDNESS.” We take very seriously the responsibility we share with you in shaping their lives. Although we are experiencing complex times, we are excited that students from Winters Elementary will be our future scholars, shapers, and leaders. They will do amazing things!
December is the last month of the year and makes me think about what is to come. I know for sure that no matter what comes our way, “We are all in this together!” Our Winters Elementary family is strong, resilient and committed to doing the best to be the best!
Have a wonderful December and Holiday Season!
Sincerely,
April L. Flowers
