Flora S. Curtis Memorial School is a diverse family of learners where all members collaborate to develop responsible, ethical, and productive citizens in our ever changing world. Our school is a safe, caring, and positive environment that sets high standards of learning and celebrates achievements of each and every child. Our vision is to fully challenge and to nurture all members of the learning community to ensure they feel valued and supported. We expect our students to strive for excellence in academic achievement and personal conduct within a joyful, supportive culture. Our mission is to provide opportunities for all students to become effective communicators and problem solvers aspiring to the highest standards to succeed in a global economy. At Curtis, we believe: All children are unique and can learn at high levels when their talents are recognized, supported, and challenged All children need targeted instruction grounded in a rigorous curriculum All children deserve a safe, supportive, positive learning environment All children should engage in meaningful learning and be encouraged to take risks and stretch their minds Everyone in our community takes responsibility for their own learning Parents are their children’s first teacher and know their children best.
