

Pawtucket, RI — William E. Tolman Senior High School student Cody Santiago was recently recognized as the top-performing high school student in Rhode Island as part of the second annual Financial Trivia Challenge, sponsored by Navigant Credit Union in partnership with the Rhode Island Interscholastic League (RIIL).Representatives from Navigant Credit Union and RIIL visited Tolman High School this week to surprise Cody with a $500 award, recognizing his top score among high school students across the state.
The Financial Trivia Challenge invited middle and high school students from across Rhode Island to test their financial literacy through a virtual platform. Over 1,800 students from 28 cities and towns participated, answering timed questions focused on key financial concepts such as budgeting, credit, and banking.
Cody, a junior at Tolman, is considering pursuing business studies after graduation and plans to use his award to support his future education.
Tolman High School was also recognized for its strong participation, earning additional awards as one of the top-performing schools in the challenge.
This recognition highlights the importance of financial literacy and the meaningful opportunities available to Pawtucket students to engage in real-world learning experiences that prepare them for success beyond high school.
