Every year on October 5th, World Teachers’ Day gives communities around the globe a moment to stop and recognize the people shaping the future. UNESCO’s theme this year marks six decades of protecting and advancing the teaching profession – reminding us that strong schools start with supporting the educators inside them.
Here in Pawtucket, that work hits close to home every single day. Our teachers do so much more than cover lesson plans. They show up early, stay late, mentor young people through life’s hurdles, and build spaces where every kid in our city feels seen and supported.
Teaching takes grit, patience, and genuine care for our community. To every teacher across the Pawtucket School Department: thank you for putting your heart into our schools, our neighborhood, and our kids.
