City of Pawtucket Arbor Day Poster Contest Theme: Love a Tree, Love Life
Poster Specifics: 8.5”x 11” Copy paper; use crayon/markers/paint
Draw a picture that shows what you think of trees and their importance to our earth, with the given theme in mind. We recommend no words appear on the poster.
All submissions must include a submission form (the form is below, please print, fill out and include with poster submission).
On February 18th, 2025, A representative from City Hall will pick up submissions from Pawtucket schools, The Empowerment Factory, and Boys & Girls Club and bring them to the Mayor’s office. Anyone who wishes can also submit their own, either drop posters and forms off at or mail to the Mayor’s office at:

The City’s Arbor Day Committee will then pick 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. Subject to a number of submissions, posters will be displayed outside the Mayor’s office. The winner (1st place) Will be used to advertise the City’s Arbor Day and Tree Planting event on April 25th. Winners (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) are recognized at the City’s Arbor Day event on April 25, 2025, and given prizes.
Prizes: 1st place $40, 2nd place $20, and 3rd place $10, gift certificates to Pawtucket restaurants, selected by the Arbor Day Committee and provided through grant funding.
Timeline (using a 2025 calendar):
Feb 18th, posters are picked up and brought to City Hall.
Feb 18-21 Selection Committee reviews and selects (during school vacation week)
March 3, Selections made public, posters displayed, and recipients will be contacted and invited to attend the ceremony.
April 25, Arbor Day celebration – winners recognized
