Warming Shelters
-
Over the past 24 hours, the City has worked with the Pawtucket Housing Authority, Pawtucket School Department, Pawtucket EMA, Pawtucket Soup Kitchen, and Red Cross to open two additional overnight warming shelters.
-
In the event residents lose power, they may go to:
• Jenks Junior High School, 350 Division Street
(Entrance through Door 15)
• Galego Courts Community Room, 483 Weeden Street
-
Both locations will open at 6:00 PM this evening and remain open until further notice. Each site is equipped with a generator backup, as well as food and beverages.
-
If an unhoused individual needs transportation to a shelter, EMA Preparedness Officer Catherine Jay will be on standby. If you encounter anyone in need of transportation, please contact her directly at 401-447-9944.
