Our Potter-Burns Elementary 4th grade students stepped back in time today during an exciting visit to Slater Mill Historic Site in partnership with the Empowerment Factory!
This hands-on field trip brought our curriculum to life as students explored the birthplace of the American Industrial Revolution and connected classroom learning to real-world innovation, engineering, and entrepreneurship. From discovering how textile mills transformed communities to examining the role of creativity and problem-solving in industry, our students gained a deeper appreciation for history and its lasting impact on the world around us.
Experiences like these inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and collaboration, skills that are at the heart of 21st-century learning. We are grateful to our teachers, staff, and community partners for making this meaningful experience possible!
