About
Project Narrative:

This landmark project holds an immense significance for the City of Pawtucket, the Pawtucket School Department, the State of Rhode Island, the Rhode Island Department of Education, the Pawtucket community, and, most importantly, the students–our future leaders.

The site selection for the new High School in the City of Pawtucket was the result of thoughtful collaborations between the City and the Pawtucket School Department. Local municipal and educational leaders prioritized meeting the needs of families and students by planning facilities designed to support and enhance a first-class 21st-century education.

The decision to establish a single high school campus at the former McCoy Stadium site reflects a forward-thinking vision for the community. This location was chosen not only for its logistical and site development advantages but also for its rich cultural significance. It symbolizes the community’s profound commitment to the future of its children and the creation of a vibrant, energized learning environment.

The decision to unite students from Tolman Senior High School and Shea Senior High School was driven by a rigorous application of educational standards required by the Rhode Island Department of Education, alongside a careful assessment of community needs. As with many schools across Rhode Island, the existing facilities are no longer adequate to meet the educational demands of the modern era. This new campus promises a transformative step forward in preparing Pawtucket’s students for the future.
