Ricardo Pimentel, Director of CTE and Unified Arts, was honored as JA Educator of the Year, at the Morris J.W. Gaebe Profiles in Excellence Awards on Thursday Night at the Crowne Plaza.

“Working with organizations like Junior Achievement has been an incredibly rewarding journey. It’s not just about imparting knowledge by instilling values, fostering creativity, and empowering young minds to navigate the complexities of the modern world. Through innovative programs and hands-on experiences, we are shaping the leaders and entrepreneurs of tomorrow. I also want to express my heartfelt appreciation to Junior Achievement for their unwavering commitment to education and for providing invaluable resources that make teaching and learning engaging and impactful. Even though my students are not here, I want to thank them for their curiosity, enthusiasm, and determination. They are the reason I strive to be the best educator I can be every day.” Ricardo Pimentel.

From the JA Website: “Junior Achievement of Rhode Island, Inc. instituted the Morris J.W. Gaebe Profile in Excellence Award to honor leaders or organizations demonstrating excellence in the Rhode Island Community. Today the award is Junior Achievement’s highest honor and carries the name of Morris J.W. Gaebe, Chancellor Emeritus of Johnson & Wales University. The recipients of the award must have demonstrated courageous thinking and actions, vision and innovation, inspiring leadership, and community mindedness.

Dr. Gaebe exemplifies all of these qualities not only in his support of Junior Achievement but through his leadership within the university and with the many organizations that he was a part of for over 65 years.”
